  Sorry for one star, went there today for a lunch time meal on way from Aberdare to Bridgend. We always look forward to our visit but today something really went horribly wrong, the worst meal we have ever had in a reputable establishment. The chips were either cooked in very old oil or had been previously cooked and reheated in the old oil, they were disgusting. The large gammon was also tarnished by the stale cooking this went mainly uneaten, the lettuce and tomato were quite tasty though. What was really galling from this highly reputable restaurant was that the member of staff behind bar could only say sorry, we were not after a refund or a free meal but the appearance of the manageress would have been appreciated. Always really loved this pub and hopefully this was a once off experience, as if this had been our first visit we would definately not be frequenting again. Given this we hope to see you again soon and please do not give us have a repeat of the disgusting pub fare that was presented to us today, your standards are way above this, who was doing the cooking and who manages the kitchen may be a possibile reason as to what went wrong hope to see you again soon if someone had come to see us this review would not have been written cheers

  Absolutely amazing, food was spot on way above average for what you would expect from pub grub. Staff were fantastic especially Geraint Williams he couldn't do enough for us. If you haven't been here for food or even just popped in for a drink then seriously your missing out. What a Gem of a place, see you again very soon guys keep up the hard work ❤❤
